Walk C: Countryside & Colleges

Cambridge & Coton
Circular route, 9 miles
Grading: Leisurely
Leaders: Lynne and Naomi

Starting at: Cambridge Railway Station, Station Road, Cambridge CB1 2JW

Start time: 11:00

Please arrive early at the station to leave promptly at the advertised start time.

This leisurely and flat route of around nine miles offers a taste of the Cambridgeshire countryside within walking distance of the city. Initially we head out of Cambridge along the river, passing through Paradise Nature Reserve, then west to the pastures and arable farmland of Coton Countryside Reserve.

At our halfway point of Coton we'll stop for lunch on the green by the village church. On our return route we pass some of the University's more modern buildings and have an impressive view of the city skyline before we enter the city centre via the Backs, the picturesque area behind the historic colleges.
