Does your group want to organise the next National Young Ramblers Weekend?

 

In the past there has been no process to decide who hosts the weekend, it’s just been the first group to self-nominate. Now that the event has taken off, more attendees are coming, and more groups are interested in hosting it, it seems fair to instigate a process to find the next host.

If your group would like to host NYR2020 we’d like to invite you to submit a pitch to be voted on by Ramblers members.

​

This year's organisers (and previous years) have hints, tips and advice to pass on. You can even take on on this website, event email address and social accounts so you don't have to start from scratch.

Submit your pitch

 

Simply explain the following:

​

• Where would you hold NYR2020?

• What makes it a great place for walking?

• What makes it a great place to bring people together?

• Is there anything particularly special about this area?

 

Your pitch can be as creative as you like, including video, presentations, audio and written – providing it can easily be hosted on the nyrweekend.org.uk website*.

​

Send your pitch deck to this year’s organisers (Stag Walkers) by 26th June by email.

 

It will be loaded onto the this website, and promoted widely – at the event, via email, and social media – to this year’s event attendees and wider Ramblers members, who can vote on their preferred host. We’ll close voting at the end of July to give the winning group as much time as possible to organise next year’s event.

*Any video or audio must be hosted somewhere like Vimeo or YouTube so that we can embed your files on the website.
